06/22/2016 - The Postal Service finally provided the APWU with an official version of the new MS-1 Handbook on June 21, Maintenance Craft Director Steve Raymer has announced. It is now effective.
Retroactive Pay Expected Nov. 4
07/23/2016 - According to information provided by the Postal Service, the new pay rates under the new APWU-USPS contract will begin on Aug. 6 (Pay Period 17) and will be reflected in paychecks dated Aug. 26, APWU President Mark Dimondstein has announced. Retroactive pay for the period from Nov. 14, 2015, through Aug. 4, 2016, are expected in Pay Period 22, with an expected pay date of Nov. 4, 2016.
07/06/2016 - In a supplemental decision issued on July 5, Arbitrator Ira Jaffe ruled in favor of the APWU on staffing at Bulk Mail Centers (BMCs), also known as Network Distribution Centers (NDCs).

As this magazine goes to press, the union is speeding quickly toward completion of our case before Arbitrator Stephen Goldberg in our effort to win a good contract.
On April 5 and 6 the APWU completed the opening round of its case before the arbitration panel that will decide the terms of a new contract, with testimony supporting the union’s economic package and proposals to eliminate multiple tiers within the workforce.
