Q&A with Braden Pelky

From time-to-time, the American Postal Worker interviews union leaders to help inspire others to get involved. In this issue, we talk with Braden Pelky, who started working at the Postal Service as a Part-Time Flexible (PTF) in 2005, at 20-years-old. He is currently serving his second term as president of the Eugene Area Local and is president of the Oregon Postal Workers Union. We wanted to hear his perspective on being a young union leader.

Whose Union Is It Anyway

At times, members get frustrated by the level of union representation they receive. And yes, sometimes our representation falls short. But I also suspect that much of the frustration comes from misunderstanding how our union functions.
