(This article first appeared in the November-December 2016 issue of The American Postal Worker magazine.)
From time-to-time, the American Postal Worker interviews union leaders to help inspire others to get involved. In this issue, we talk with Braden Pelky, who started working at the Postal Service as a Part-Time Flexible (PTF) in 2005, at 20-years-old. He is currently serving his second term as president of the Eugene Area Local and is president of the Oregon Postal Workers Union. We wanted to hear his perspective on being a young union leader.
The Western Region Coordinator is responsible for the union's activities in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and American Samoa, Guam and Saipan.
