Changing the ‘High-Three’ Retirement Formula
(12/12/05) Why are retirement annuities calculated using the “high-three” formula?
Do you think the formula will ever be reduced to “high-two,” “high
one,” or perhaps just the final year of employment? Why does the pay-for-performance
program apply only to EAS personnel? Shouldn’t the rank-and-file, many
of whom make their supervisors look good, share in the wealth?

(11/29/05) I live in an area with a very high cost-of-living.
I find it difficult, sometimes almost impossible, to live on my salary.
While postal employees in the Midwest and the South may be able to
live on this salary, here in the Northeast, we can barely support our
families.

Assignment of Katrina-Impacted Workers
(11/08/05) If there are no residual vacancies in my installation,
can a person requesting to voluntarily come to the installation under
the Katrina Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) be assigned as an unencumbered
employee? Also, will there be a waiting period (180 days) for an employee
who transfers to an installation under the Katrina MOU before he/she
may bid on a vacant or newly established duty assignment?
