Safety & Health Representatives
The APWU’s regional Safety & Health Representatives provide safety and health representation on Area Joint Labor-Management Safety Committees, under the direction of their respective regional coordinator. Questions and concerns regarding safety and health in the APWU’s Southern Region should be directed to Southern Regional Coordinator William Sullivan’s office at 281-821-9000.
Additionally, APWU regional Safety & Health representatives are responsible for evaluation and implementation of national agreements at the Area level concerning OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and the Ergonomic Risk Reduction Process (ERRP). Questions regarding these programs can be directed to the appropriate regional Safety & Health representatives.

The Southern Region Coordinator is responsible for organizing the union’s grievance activity at the Step 3 level and arbitration in 11 states. He supervises the scheduling of Step 3 grievances throughout the region; scheduling arbitration hearings for the cases that remain unresolved, and assigns the union’s advocates.
