Training
The Research & Education Department offers comprehensive training to APWU activists on a wide array of topics.
Beginning in 2005, the department began offering Leadership Training for APWU Presidents, seminars designed to assist local union presidents in acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to run an effective local, and to meet the challenges of the future.

Each year, the department offers Shop Steward Training [PDF- 6MB (manual revised July 2006)], dedicated to providing union stewards with the skills they need to enforce the Collective Bargaining Agreement, motivate union members, keep members informed about important issues and activities, and organize non-members.
The Research & Education Department provides training to APWU arbitration advocates at both the Basic and Advanced level. These classes, which focus on the final step of the grievance-arbitration process, provide an in-depth look at case preparation. (Warning: These classes are not for the faint-hearted!)
In conjunction with APWU national conventions, the Research & Education Department offers instructional Workshops on a host of subjects. Contact the department to receive copies of the training material.
