USPS "Expanded Access study list" of of 3,700 stations and branches under consideration for closure

Feb. 28, 2011

On March. 28, 2011, the PRC released a list of post offices, stations, and branches that were closed for emergency suspension, despite a protest from the Postal Service that it remain secret.  The list is dated Freb. 28, 2011, it contains 229 post offices and 137 stations and branches, and it's here.

Revised USPS list [PDF] of 168 stations and branches remaining under consideration for closure.

A list [XLS] provided to the Postal Regulatory Commission includes explanations of why approximately 500 stations were removed from consideration. (Note: If Column A is blank, the office remains under consideration for closure.)

List [Excel spreadsheet] provided by the USPS at briefing for APWU officers on June 23 of 3,243 stations and branches in Level-24-and-above installations that were being reviewed for possible closure/consolidation.

May 15, 2009

USPS notice to the APWU that it is “considering consolidating operations in our larger stations and branches,” including a list [PDF] of 3,105 facilities under evaluation for closure.
