Deadline for Voting Extended

Ballots Must Be Received by Oct. 14

09/27/2010 - The APWU Election Committee has extended the deadline for voting in the national officers’ election because of reports that a large number of union members have not yet received their ballots.

ALSO: A recent guest editorial in the Washington Times by a California congressman demonstrates just how important the November elections are for postal workers, APWU President William Burrus wrote in an Update for union members.

‘Our Union is Alive and Strong’

08/24/2010 - APWU President William Burrus told delegates to the 20th Biennial National Convention that the union is “alive and strong.”

ALSO: Delegates to the APWU National Convention got down to business on the meeting’s opening day, voting on more than 90 resolutions that were submitted to the union’s Labor-Management Committee.

AND: Many delegates arrived in Detroit a few days early to attend the Bulk Mail Centers (BMC) conference on Aug. 20.
