COPA Slide Show Tells Why
APWU Web News Article #028-09, March 17, 2009

A new PowerPoint slide show about COPA, the APWU political action fund, is now available to local, state, and national officers for use at union meetings, conventions, and conferences. The presentation explains what COPA is and why it is important to contribute.
“We hope union activists will use the slide show to win support for COPA, which will help us advance our legislative agenda,” said APWU President William Burrus. “The show is designed to encourage rank-and-file union members to contribute to the union’s political action fund.”
Myke Reid, APWU Legislative and Political director, said union leaders should be prepared to distribute COPA forms at the conclusion of the slide show, and should have computer terminals and telephones ready so that members can immediately sign up to make recurring donations via PostalEASE, and through regular credit card contributions.
“We hope the slide show will help locals and states meet their COPA goals,” Reid said, “and we are eager to hear feedback about the presentation from union activists and members.”
