The APWU Chorus will ring loud and clear. |
APWU Chorus III
At the 2004 and 2006 conventions, a chorus of talented APWU members started each convention day for us with medleys of inspirational songs. Some of the compositions were created on-site during rehearsals and in main the music featured themes of labor, civil rights, and social justice.
The chorus once again will be conducted by Elise Bryant, a senior staff associate at the George Meany Campus of the National Labor College. The APWU Chorus has been a hit, with delegates walking into each session raising their voices in unison and in unionism to create an atmosphere of solidarity. We fully expect to recreate this feeling in Las Vegas.
Auditions & Rehearsals
Auditions for this convention chorus will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Skyview I of the Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel (the union’s convention headquarters). There also will be auditions for musicians. If you plan to join the chorus, be advised that there will be extensive rehearsals before the convention’s Monday start, and throughout the week thereafter.
If you are interested, please complete a registration form [PDF]. State your preference for an audition time slot on the form and send it by June 20 to:
