APWU Creates ‘News Feed’
APWU Web News Article #31-06, May 22, 2006
The APWU is now providing a “news feed” of top stories from the union’s Web site, www.apwu.org, for use by local unions, state organizations, and members. Using RSS technology, the union will make available links to its most recently posted Web articles, which can be displayed on locals’ Web pages. The feeds will be updated at the APWU national office, enabling locals’ Web sites to automatically receive updated news articles. Individuals and other organizations can receive the news feeds as well.
To take advantage of the service, users will need a special feed reader or aggregator that displays the content. There are many available, most of which are free.
An RSS feed provides an easy way for readers to be alerted when content that interests them appears on favorite sites. For more information about RSS and how to set up an APWU news feed, click here.
