11/30/2016 - On an annual basis, Postal Support Employees who are assigned as PSE Sales/Service and Distribution Associates, D/A 81-4, will be eligible to purchase three (3) Type 2 shirts worn by employees assigned for retail operations...This ONLY applies to PSEs who have met the criteria listed.

11/22/2016 - Consistent with the requirements of the Wounded Warriors Federal Leave Act of 2015, the Postal Service allows veteran employees who meet the eligibility requirements to take Wounded Warrior Leave. This is a specific type of leave, which provides veteran employees with no loss in pay, for undergoing medical treatment for a service-related disability rated at 30% or more.
11/22/2016 - According to correspondence between the Postal Service and APWU, all discussions to modify any of the 110 Highway Contract Route (HCR) subcontracting must be done at the National level.
11/18/2016 - In accordance with Article 8 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, penalty overtime rules are not applicable for a four-week period each year during December. This year, the period starts with Week 2 of Pay Period 25-16 (Dec. 3, 2016) and stops at the end of Week 1 of Pay Period 01-17 (Dec. 30, 2016).

11/17/2016 - On Nov. 8, 2016, National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Administrative Law Judge Paul Bogas ruled to uphold all of the charges leveled at the United States Postal Service’s (USPS) Staples Approved Shipper program. The APWU initially filed the complaint on Nov. 13, 2014.
The judge ruled the Staples deal was subcontracting within the meaning of Article 32 of the APWU/USPS Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The ruling stated USPS illegally and intentionally ignored its legal obligation under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) to bargain with the APWU over the Staples deal and its effects on members of the union...
An official transcript of the proceedings from the APWU’s 23rd Biennial National Convention is now available to union members on www.apwu.org. The convention is the highest governing body of the APWU.
The 1,538-page document provides a full transcript of the business undertaken during the assembly, which took place Aug. 22-25 in Orlando.

11/16/2016 - According to USPS’s financial results released on Nov. 15, the Postal Service gained $610 million in operating profit in Fiscal Year (FY) 2016. Despite what the headlines say, the Postal Service has now been operating in the black for three straight years, with operating profits totaling $3.2 billion since 2013.
Unfortunately, this good news is overshadowed in press reports by the reported $5.6 billion “loss.” The only cause of that is the Postal Service is unnecessarily saddled by Congress with a mandate to fully pre-fund future retiree health care under the 2006 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA). This pre-funding mandate is something no other government agency, private corporation, or organization is required to do...
