05/02/2018 - Members of the APWU’s Rank and File Bargaining Advisory Committee held their first meeting in Washington, DC, on April 24. The committee advises the union’s National Negotiations Committee on bargaining demands and must approve any tentative agreement reached before it can be sent to APWU members for a ratification vote.

03/07/2018 - With contract negotiations set to begin early summer, President Mark Dimondstein has announced the names of union members who will serve on the Rank and File Bargaining Advisory Committee. In accordance with the APWU Constitution, each member of the National Executive Board names one person to the committee; a 14th member, appointed by the president, is a member of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Task Force.

Happy New Year! 2018 will be extremely challenging and busy as the fight continues to protect our jobs from the outrageous management onslaught of reversions, abolishments and threatened excessing. The 2018 elections, including issue-based ballot initiatives, are important to our future. The ongoing Stand Up for Safe Jobs campaign has the potential to reduce tens of thousands of workplace injuries. The APWU Biennial National Convention, the union’s highest authority, will help set the course for the coming years. Critical postal reform will need serious attention to be achieved.
11/02/2017 - The third general wage increase under the 2015 Collective Bargaining Agreement will be effective Nov. 25, 2017. This wage increase will be reflected in the paycheck workers will receive on Dec.15, 2017.Career employees will receive a pay raise of 1.3 percent.
02/13/2017 - The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the United States Postal Service and the American Postal Workers Union has been sent to the printer and is available as a pdf. Hard copies of the CBA are available for purchase on the APWU store. The pdf is available under “Resources."
The July 8, 2016 interest arbitration award established the terms for the 2015-2018 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), ordering a retroactive pay increase effective Nov. 14, 2015. USPS started paying the new rates ordered by the arbitration award on Aug. 6, 2016.
10/31/2016 - Retroactive Pay for Nov. 14, 2015 – Aug. 5, 2016
The interest arbitration award dated July 8, 2016 that established the terms for the 2015-2018 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), ordered a retroactive pay increase effective Nov. 14, 2015. USPS started paying the new rates ordered by the arbitration award on Aug. 6, 2016. The retroactive pay for all APWU represented employees for the period from Nov. 16, 2015 through Aug. 5, 2016 will be paid in pay period 23 (Oct. 29-Nov. 11) and reflected in the November 18, 2016 paycheck.
