08/26/2010 - APWU members and friends celebrated the 53-year career of President William Burrus and his contributions to the union at a tribute dinner Aug. 24.

ALSO: Convention Rejects Dues Increase Leaves Intact Procedure for Filling Officer Vacancies 

AND: Union leaders from across the globe held a forum on Monday evening to discuss the economic and social trends that pose challenges for postal workers worldwide.

AND: The APWU and the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) share a common history of struggle, and work “side by side every day” to fight for better working conditions for postal employees, NALC President Fredric Rolando told  APWU convention delegates on Aug. 24. 

AND: On Aug. 21 and 22, Maintenance Division delegates gathered at pre-convention workshops to discuss subcontracting, workplace safety, and job training, in preparation for contract negotiations.

Pay Raise Set for November 21

Automatic Dues Increase Effective Same Date

10/19/2009 - APWU-represented postal workers will receive a 1.2 percent increase in annual salaries effective Nov. 21, based on the grades and levels in effect on Sept. 6, 2006. The raise will be reflected in paychecks issued Dec. 11, and apply to employees covered by the APWU-USPS 2006-2010 Collective Bargaining Agreement and the 2006-2010 Operating Services Agreement.

Retroactive Pay to Be Issued May 18

National Union to Waive Back Dues

03/06/2007 - The USPS has notified the APWU that it expects to disburse back pay for the period from Nov. 25, 2006, through Feb. 2, 2007, in paychecks dated May 18 (Pay Period 10-2007). The retroactive pay will reflect a 1.3 percent raise for five pay periods (Pay Period 25-2006 through 03-2007).
