Below is a list of OHSA inspections of Post Office facilities. The list only includes complaints/inspections that have led to fines. This information was obtained from the OHSA website. In order to view the full citation click on any individual inspection number below. That will take you to the “Inspection Detail” page where you can find the address of the facility inspected, status of the case, and list of the violations. At the bottom you will find “Violation Items”. If you click on the ID number of this section it will take you the violation detail page. At the top of the page you will find the “Standard Cited” where you can click to go read the actual OHSA regulation violated.
These pages give you general information about the citations the USPS received. It will not give you details about the exact incident or exactly what was found to be wrong. But this information can tell you if the Service has been cited for violating a particular standard anywhere in the country. Remember, if the Service was cited, for example, in California for something and then they are cited for the same standard in your facility in, for example, North Dakota, it is to be considered a repeat violation.
Should you want to look at every inspection that is open or did not result in a citation, you can go to: https://www.osha.gov/pls/imis/industry.html to search all inspections/complaints of USPS facilities. You must search by the NAICS number. For the USPS that number is 49110. You break down your search to time frame, by state, by OHSA office, and more.
The details on the OHSA website are updating on a regular basis as cases proceed through the inspection, citation, and hearing processes. The Industrial Relations Department will update this list monthly with the new citations. Should you have any questions please direct those questions to your Regional Safety and Health Representative.
