APWU – Our Union, Our Contract, Our Future!

One Team, One Fight

Our CATs were born as Contract Action Teams in 2015.

They were a hugely successful part of our Fighting Today for A Better Tomorrow Contract Campaign. Building on the activism of Contract Action Teams, CATs have changed their names to: Collective Action Teams.

Now in addition to contract campaigns, CATS will educate, agitate, organize, and mobilize members and allies to build a culture of collective action and help members become a stronger part of all of the union’s campaigns.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

This page is a resource for members to find information on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Your union officers are holding ongoing conversations with the Postal Service about COVID-19. We will continue to be in discussions with the Postal Service as the spread of the disease widens around the world and new information is learned.

The APWU always prioritizes health and safety and is engaged on this issue. We are not allowing the Postal Service to take a passive approach to the risks of the disease.

Contract survey

The Collective Bargaining Agreement (aka CBA or union contract) between the APWU and the USPS sets the wages, hours, rights, job security and working conditions of postal workers. The current contract expires on September 20, 2021. Preparations are already underway with the official negotiation period beginning this June.

The APWU National negotiating team wants to hear from you. Let us know what your priorities are for a new union contract.
