The APWU and the Postal Service have agreed to extend the Operating Services agreement through Tuesday, Nov. 30, at noon ET, said APWU Support Services Director Bill Manley.

The parties agreed to extend negotiations in order to “tie up any loose ends after the deadline for the National Agreement passes,” Manley said. The union and the Postal Service agreed on Nov. 20 to extend the national contract until Tuesday, Nov. 23, at noon.

The Operating Services contract is modeled on the national Collective Bargaining Agreement, and covers 90 postal employees working at USPS Headquarters in Washington, DC, and at a facility in nearby Merrifield, VA.

Manley said the parties are discussing issues related to retaining jobs and returning work to bargaining unit employees.
