09/30/2016 - Support Services Craft Director Stephen R. Brooks has appointed Judy McCann of the Twin Cities PDC Local to serve as the craft’s new National Business Agent, effective Nov. 12. Delegates to the 2016 APWU National Convention voted to add an NBA to the Support Services Division, which had a single national officer, the director.

All APWU local and state unions that receive dues rebates (DCO checks) from the national union must file an annual financial report with the Department of Labor (DOL). The report is required by the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA).
Labor unions are required to report all revenue and expenditures for the year within 90 days after the end of the local’s fiscal or accounting year. The report is considered a public record and will be posted on the DOL website, www.dol.gov.
From May 23-27, local and state presidents, executive vice presidents and secretary-treasurers attended sessions, including, Duties of Election Committees; Filing and Defending a Charge With the National Labor Relations Board; Getting out the Union’s Message; Monitoring Dues Check Off (DCO); and Understanding Diversity.

Nancy Olumekor to Fill Retirees Spot
04/11/2016 - APWU President Mark Dimondstein has appointed Judy Beard to serve as Legislative and Political director, effective April 16. She will fill the vacancy created when John Marcotte becomes Health Plan director following the retirement of William Kaczor. In accordance with APWU Constitution, the National Executive Board approved the appointments.
04/06/2016 - William "Bill" Kaczor Jr., the long-standing director of the APWU Health Plan, has announced he will retire on April 15.
04/06/2016 - Legislative and Political Director John Marcotte has been appointed APWU Health Plan Director by President Mark Dimondstein. Marcotte’s appointment, which was approved by the National Executive Board, is effective April 16, when William Kaczor, the current director, retires.
03/23/2016 - Sonia Canchola has been appointed to fill the vacant San Francisco Region Clerk Craft National Business Agent position, effective March 21. She fills the vacancy that was created by the death of Gilbert Ybarra, who passed away in October 2014 after a motorcycle accident.
