In the instant case, the union is requesting military leave for those employees called to active duty during the prison guard strike in New York in April, 1979. After reviewing this matter, it is our determination that the duties performed by these employees would, out of necessity, be considered law enforcement duties. In view of the foregoing, the grievance is sustained. The Postmaster is asked to make the necessary pay and/or leave adjustments upon receipt of this decision.
