APWU Honors Soldier for Extraordinary Service

Minneapolis Area Local President Jerry Sirois presents Kevin Imholte with a medallion on behalf of the APWU.Kevin Imholte, son of Minneapolis Area Local activists Brenda and Vern Wellman, was presented with a silver medallion on behalf of the APWU for his extraordinary military service. The medallion, which was created and donated by the Nevada State APWU, was presented to Imholte upon his return to the U.S. on June 22 by Minneapolis Area Local President Jerry Sirois.

Imholte’s heroic military actions earned him the Army’s Bronze Star Medal for an act of bravery while serving in Iraq two years ago. Imholte was also inducted into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, an elite organization that recognizes non-commissioned officers who have displayed integrity, professionalism, commitment to mentoring subordinate soldiers, leadership abilities and personal ethics.

Kevin has served in overseas assignments in Afghanistan, two stints in Iraq, and in Kosovo.
