Dual Casual Reports
Dual casual reports are provided to the union on an Accounting Period basis. The report monitors the use of Postmaster Reliefs, Rural Reliefs and other employees whose primary appointment is outside of the APWU crafts, but who have a “dual appointment” permitting them to also work as a casual in APWU crafts.
There are two reports for each Accounting Period, an APWU On-Rolls Dual Employees report, and an APWU Paid Dual Employees report. The first report lists all employees with a current “dual appointment” as a casual designated to work in the APWU bargaining unit. The employees on this first report count toward the maximum number of permitted casuals in an office or District. The second report indicates which of the employees on the first report actually worked as casuals in an APWU bargaining unit during the Accounting Period.
