In a joint letter to members of the House of Representatives, the presidents of the National Association of Letter Carriers, the National Postal Mail Handlers Union and APWU expressed opposition to the “Fast Track” trade bill pending before the Congress. Voting on the measure is expected to take place on Friday, June 12.

The June 10 letter says, “We have urged you to end the undemocratic practice of voting on Trade Promotion Authority before the trade and investment agreements negotiated in secret by our government and its trading partners are made public.  Such authority guarantees enactment of these agreements before their flaws can be democratically debated and amended.”
