AFL-CIO, Union Plus Offer ‘Dreams of Jobs and Freedom’ Scholarships

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, during which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his historic “I Have a Dream” speech, the AFL-CIO and Union Plus are offering scholarships to help graduating high school seniors attend college.

The one-time, $5,000 scholarships are to help fund study for the academic year beginning in the fall 2013 through summer 2014. Fifty scholarships will be awarded.

Completed applications must be submitted by noon on Monday, July 1, 2013.
